GINCS neurobiologists have expertise in Neuropharmacology, Molecular Biology and Electrophysiology. GINCS cognitive scientists have expertise in Decision-Making Process, Visual and Cognitive Development, Attention, Perception and Consciousness. Thus GINCS provides an inter-disciplinary platform for research collaboration. GINCS is collaborating with College of Chinese Medicine and College of Pharmacy to develop neuroprotective drugs from herbal and synthetic compounds. GINCS is also collaborating with clinicians in China Medical University Hospital (CMUH) to understand the etiological mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease. GINCS cognitive scientists are also collaborating with neurobiologists and clinicians to find out the relationship between genes and cognitive behaviors, and the neural mechanisms underlying cognition and perception.
